The Ironing Experience From Hell

So I got that really nice iron (featured below) right?

Well, I was really excited to use it for the first time this morning! My parents have this iron and I love it and it is why I love to iron so much.

So I get up, get in a shower and do everything I need to in there. I go into my bedroom and pick out my work clothes and put them on. I take my shirt out to the living room and place it on the ironing board. Take the iron out and plug it in and go start some coffee.

I come back to the ironing board. Lay my shirt out. It's my sacred canvas of ironing artistry. The iron is nice and hot. My shirt is good and wrinkly. I start by ironing the front right side of my shirt... Nothing happens. So, I give the shirt a little steam and slide the iron down the side once more. Again... Nothing happens.

At this point I am thinking that I just didn't do something right, after all it is the first time this iron has been used. I read the directions. I did everything right. So I decide that the iron is faulty and sadly place it on the counter, once it cools down of course.

I grab our cheap, lame one and try to make the best of my shirt before work. That doesn't work out well and I go to work looking like a fool who put on a rolled up shirt.

To make a long story short, I got home from my lunch and was really irritated with the iron. I put my shirt in the dryer and let it tumble for a while, which seemed to help. Once I noticed that, I wrong the tags on the shirt and discovered that this shirt needs to be tumble dried to get rid of wrinkles... *face palm*

I felt like such a fool.

Hopefully tomorrow's ironing expedition will be more productive.
