The Ironing Experience From Hell

So I got that really nice iron (featured below) right?

Well, I was really excited to use it for the first time this morning! My parents have this iron and I love it and it is why I love to iron so much.

So I get up, get in a shower and do everything I need to in there. I go into my bedroom and pick out my work clothes and put them on. I take my shirt out to the living room and place it on the ironing board. Take the iron out and plug it in and go start some coffee.

I come back to the ironing board. Lay my shirt out. It's my sacred canvas of ironing artistry. The iron is nice and hot. My shirt is good and wrinkly. I start by ironing the front right side of my shirt... Nothing happens. So, I give the shirt a little steam and slide the iron down the side once more. Again... Nothing happens.

At this point I am thinking that I just didn't do something right, after all it is the first time this iron has been used. I read the directions. I did everything right. So I decide that the iron is faulty and sadly place it on the counter, once it cools down of course.

I grab our cheap, lame one and try to make the best of my shirt before work. That doesn't work out well and I go to work looking like a fool who put on a rolled up shirt.

To make a long story short, I got home from my lunch and was really irritated with the iron. I put my shirt in the dryer and let it tumble for a while, which seemed to help. Once I noticed that, I wrong the tags on the shirt and discovered that this shirt needs to be tumble dried to get rid of wrinkles... *face palm*

I felt like such a fool.

Hopefully tomorrow's ironing expedition will be more productive.

Christmas 2008

I am SO happy that Christmas is over! Finally things can start settling down and going back to normal. I will miss all this paid vacation time though. I think my next one is going the the 1st of January and then I can't recall any close ones after that.

I had a good time this Christmas. It was a lot less annoying/stressful than last Christmas. My older sister Sarah got married on the 29th of last December so the whole last 2 weeks of December were insane.

This year it was very low key and relaxing. I got a 51 piece kitchen set (super stoked about it) and an extremely nice iron, an electric piano keyboard :D and some smallers things. I was very pleased and grateful for everything.

I am really excited to use my iron, lol. The one that I currently have it basically junk... So this is going to be a nice upgrade.

I hope everyone else is having a wonderful holiday season this year!

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

My Monday was a surprisingly eventful day! Normally the stereotype for Mondays are gloomy, drawn out and slow. At least, this was the case for my average Monday.
This Monday however was quite different!! I started my day off at 4 AM with a shower and a nice big mug of coffee. Sydney and I managed to not die while driving on the ice into work inside poor little Dusty (Sydney's car).

My morning was jam packed with problems and solutions and all sorts of activities. Before I knew it, it was 11 AM! Syd and I piled back into Dusty and went home for some ham and cheese sandwiches! They were basically orgasmic.

While on our lunch break, we discovered our new favorite unisex name, Franley! It was mentioned on an episode of Will & Grace. It's only funny to say if you say it with an almost depressing tone. It's pretty much ridiculous.

We went back to work and I was told that I got the new position that I applied for at work. It's an Administrative Purchasing Assistant. I will be working with our Purchasing agents by helping with part requests and invoicing. I'll also be summarizing inventory and dealing with shipping orders. As well as selling an maintaining our salvage and obsolete equipment. It's something that I have never done before but really excited to learn about!

After work I went and worked out with Sydney, where we ogled this really nice looking personal trainer! Anyways, the work out felt really nice and All Star Fitness is an amazing gym.

That night, Adam and I went out and saw The Boy In the Striped Pajamas. I had him drive the Coug cause with the combination of my night vision and my lack of knowledge of the Tacoma area would not have been a good combo.

The movie was really gripping. It is definitely one movie that I will never forget and will always recommend. I cried quite a bit and would have done more if I was in private and not in the theater. I'm glad that Adam wanted to see that movie as well cause I don't think of my other friends would have wanted to see it. Thanks Adam!

And that was my Monday, in a nut shell!

Tis the season...

I cannot believe that Christmas is less than a week away. That is so crazy to me. I really want to get something for everyone that I care about this year but I don't know if that is going to happen.
I'm certainly going to try though!

It's been snowing non stop this week. It is amazing. I love love LOVE the snow and how it makes everything the same and peaceful looking. The only down side about it is that this cold weather broke the heating core in my car so I don't have hot air and my car is over heating.

I have to work the 5am to 2pm shift today. 4:00 am is a disgusting hour of the day. I couldn't do this every day. Not at all.

I started yoga last night! It was a lot of fun. It kicked my ass though. I am no where near as limber as I really should be, heh. I am going to start swimming more as well.

I am taking a natural anti-depressant called St John's Wort. I don't feel depressed but I have been talking with my massage therapist a lot and she thinks I am. I don't feel sad or anything but my appetite is constantly fluctuating. Work is stressing me out a lot. I lost 7 pounds last month. And I don't sleep a lot.

So, I guess that's depression but whatever :) These pills work great!
